If you are a huge fan of hiking or walking in nature, then Ancient Forest is a must-visit destination for a nature lover like me. Ever since I arrived in Canada, I've already gained 1 kg per year, so walking has become my favorite go-to activity during my free time to burn calories (hehe).
Ancient Forest is located 115 km east of Prince George, British Columbia. As you walk along the trail, you will be fascinated by a thousand-year-old Western Redcedar trees. The forest scenery even reminds me of the Twilight Movie, especially the scenes where Bella and Edward shared some moments in the trees. By the way, here are some of the pictures we captured.

You will be guided by a boardwalk and map as you hike around the forest. Make sure to stay on the boardwalk to avoid getting lost.
Our first destination was going to the waterfalls. While trailing, we were greeted by Redcedar trees with gigantic trunks. Be sure to wear reliable and comfortable shoes because climbing is a bit tiring. Don't forget to bring a bottle of water to keep you hydrated during the hike.
We came across this fallen branch before reaching the waterfalls. The waterfalls are not so large but it's still beautiful and worth watching.
After the waterfalls, we decided to head to the big tree. Going downhill is easier, but you still have to be careful, as you could twist or roll your ankle if you rush. Just follow the boardwalk again to stay on the safe path. Then just follow the map heading to the big tree. Not really sure if this is the big tree, but almost all the trees that we passed had big trunks (hehe).
Visiting Ancient Forest was a great experience. It’s a nice place to enjoy nature, get some fresh air, and take a break from everyday life. Whether you like hiking or just want to see beautiful trees, this place is worth a visit. I can’t wait for my next trip!
