Summer Memories in Jasper, Alberta: Before the Wildfire Struck

We were fortunate to visit Jasper last June before the wildfire struck. I was saddened by what happened to Jasper recently, but the memories we created there still linger in our hearts and minds. It was our first time traveling to Jasper, and when we arrived, there was only one word I could say: Speechless.  I felt like the place was out of this world - it was truly magnificent.  We only explored some of the areas of Jasper since we stayed there just for one day.  Our landlord just invited us along since they had an RV which allowed us to park near our planned destinations and sleep there overnight.  Let me show you some of our activities and getaways.

After parking the RV on the first day of our trip, we explored the Athabasca Falls and Jasper downtown immediately. Since we were strolling in groups, I didn’t have the chance to fully explore the area on our own.  After hearing about the wildfire in Jasper a month ago, I really regretted not taking lots of pictures in the downtown area.

So far here are some of the photos I have taken.

Then on the same day later, we went to Athabasca Falls, just about 15 minutes from where we were staying.  I couldn't believe my eyes. I had only seen it on Google or in movies before, but now it was right in front of me.

Then on the next day before going home, we visited Jasper Skytram. No words can explain how beautiful the place is. We rode a tram to get to the Whistler Mountain. It took a 7-minute ride to get to the alpine upper station.

After getting to the place, we were captivated by the magnificent beauty of the place.  The mountains are covered in snow which looks like ice cream cones.

We were able to reach the Whistler mountain summit after the 30-minute hike.  It was super exhausting but its all worth it because we got to see the stunning and breathtaking views of the mountains, lakes, and the Jasper downtown.

We only spent two hours on the Skytram before heading back to Prince George.  Our experience was totally incredible. It was like a dream come true! We were not yet done because before going home, we stopped at Robson Park and decided to take pictures.  We also pass through McBride and take quick photos there as well.

Our visit to Jasper was an amazing experience filled with stunning views and great memories. From exploring downtown to seeing Athabasca Falls and riding the Skytram up Whistler Mountain, it all felt like a dream come true. Even though we were only there for a day, Jasper left a big impact on us. While it's sad to hear about the recent wildfire, we’re grateful for the memories and photos we have. This trip reminded us to enjoy every moment and appreciate the beauty around us.
