It's actually a super late post! This should have been posted last September but since we just arrived in Canada during that time, I could not update my blog regularly. As the saying goes, "Better Late Than Never", right? That's why I wrote this blog post. Every year, it's always my habit to blog about my daughters' birthdays; so whenever I get bored, I just go to my blog and read my previous post. I love recalling our memories.
Here's what happened during the birthday of Psalm. I took a picture of her to remember how she looked as she turned 7.
Then, we took her to McDonald's to celebrate her birthday and order her favorite foods. We didn't know anyone yet here in Prince George so we didn't prepare a party for her or cook some food. On top of that, we were also tightening our belts as my husband and I were still jobless at that time. Despite all of that, I thanked God for giving her another year to experience the life she wanted to be.
Each of my kid's birthdays is important to my heart because it's the day when I celebrate their progress and milestones in life. I also feel grateful for all the opportunities for being their mother despite my imperfections. Chesska turning 11 feels like time did not really slow down, and I cannot believe that our little girl is growing so fast.
My love for this girl is huge though sometimes we clashed because she didn't listen many times (haha)! In spite of that, Chesska is creative, especially at drawing, loves to pet fish, and she is such a wonderful big sister to her little sister Psalm. Although sometimes, she's not patient with her, she gives way most of the time when her sister is annoying (hehe).
So over a month ago, we had just a simple 11th birthday celebration. It was simple yet it was a huge way to show her how special she is to our family. We prepared her favorite foods and invited her cousin close to her heart.
Since she turned 11, I've seen a lot of changes in her, especially the way she dresses up. She loves trendy clothes and is curious about the physical changes she has noticed. It looks like I am not yet ready to embrace the changes in her because for me she's still my baby (hehe). But I know deep inside my heart that this change will come. I am grateful to God, for giving me an opportunity to raise the kind of girl that He wants her to be.
Over the past 10 years, I've been blessed enough to focus on taking care of Chesska. And it’s been a great experience to see her grow from being a clingy baby to a cranky toddler, to a timid preschooler (as she often cried in school), and now into a young lady who surprisingly begins to shine and bloom in her God-given talent.
I am in awe as I watch her overcome her preschool years, become an independent learner, become a responsible sister to her younger sibling, and most of all enjoy what she loves doing such as creating comic strips, editing animated videos, as well as playing Minecraft and Roblox which I can't relate. 😁😁
I just can't believe that she's now 10 years old, and for that, I am eternally thankful to God for guiding, blessing, and protecting her up to this day.
I am thrilled to see what God has in store for her future and I am confident that it'll be amazing.

Wasn't it just yesterday when we celebrated Psalm's 5th birthday? Days pass so quickly and I can't believe that I have already two big girls in my family. I have also to accept the fact that as they get older, I get older too (hehe.)
Last Sunday, we celebrated Psalm's birthday. This is the second time that we celebrated her birthday at the time of the covid outbreak. I know, we are all affected by this pandemic but despite our difficult situation around the world, let us remember that there are still plenty of things to be grateful for. In my case, one of the things I am so grateful for is we are still alive and we are not infected with the virus ever since the outbreak began. By the way, allow me to share our photos last week.
What I love about Psalm is that she can already decide on tiny things like choosing the birthday theme for herself. A couple of months ago, she often mentioned that she wanted a jungle-themed-like birthday party. She said that she wanted to have a tiger dress and tiger toys so we granted her request. After all, they only become children once.
So, a month prior to her birthday, we busily looked for her dress and birthday decor in Shopee. To be honest, it's difficult to find those specific items in our local malls so Shoppe is always in the rescue. SALAMAT SHOPEE!! In case you want to know the sellers, I place the links below. I swear, what we found on these sellers was pretty and have a nice quality too. I also bought a dress for Ate Chesska so she would not get jealous.
As usual, we limit our visitors to some relatives who are close to us and of course, those who are already vaccinated.
We just prepared simple snacks from Jollibee since my kids are huge fans of this food chain (hehe).
Kids usually expect gifts during their birthday party. So we just bought toys and wrapped them in different gift bags. I can tell that she's was pretty excited while unboxing them.
We also took a picture as a family. As a kid, a simple celebration like this is something she won't forget even she will get old. A memory that will last a lifetime.
I hope you enjoy reading my blog post. And if you have questions or comments, feel free to leave them in the comment section below. Have a nice day!
Green Jungle Safari Theme Birthday Party Decoration Ideas for Kids
Throwing a birthday party for your loved one is not only exciting but also tiring. Over the years, I've always thrown a birthday party for my kids, and I learned that the simpler the party is, the better. Not only you can save money, but you can save time and effort as well. Since the Covid-19 outbreak started, I am now more practical in many things including spending money on birthdays. Today, I am going to share with you a simple blue birthday decoration idea at home inless than 300 pesos budget.
We bought this birthday party decoration set in Shopee which includes the following:
I loved how it turned out. We assembled this birthday decoration in less than 30 minutes unlike in our previous birthday decorations where it took us hours to prepare.

My first-born daughter, Chesska, just turned 9 years old a couple of months ago. I almost forgot to blog about this as I couldn't do blogging and vlogging at the same time due to busyness. 😁 However, I prefer to vlog right now because blogging is not as lucrative as vlogging based on what I've read online. And also based on my experience with blogging, it's even difficult to earn $5 dollars per month unless you have a hundred of thousands views per month. But my main purpose for blogging is not only to earn money but to document my experience as a mother, my personal life, and my children's milestone. It's also my outlet to express my opinion and feelings in whatever situations that may arise.
Anyway, back to Chesska's 9th birthday.
Every time my children celebrated their birthdays, I always posted it here because I want to have a remembrance of them. I also wanted to make a post about what we did during this pandemic. Aside from that, whenever I got bored, I just opened my blog and read my post again. It made me happy instantly while looking at their pictures at how much they have grown.
Obviously, we chose Unicorn theme decorations as this is Chesska's favorite toy. Well, who doesn't like unicorns? It's super cute. If I had to be a little kid again, I would have chosen this kind of decoration.
Nothing so fancy about the celebration, it was just a simple one. Though the decorations look extravagant, I'll tell you, it was very cheap since we just used crepe papers as a backdrop. It at least eased the mental boredom of my children during this pandemic. We all know how this pandemic has affected the children so much especially that they are not still allowed to go outside.
As you can see, our "handa" was so simple. I don't want to prepare too many foods that will eventually get spoiled. Many people are jobless right now and I am sure they can hardly sustain their family needs especially food. I just wanted to be sensitive to their situations during this time of crisis.
Since we are not allowed to invite many visitors as per city's COVID-19 guidelines (of course we don't want to get infected with the viruses), we just invited Chesska's cousin and his family. Chesska, Psalm, and Geero (cousin) haven't seen each other since the pandemic began so they just kept playing and made some "kwentuhan" all day after eating.
I am hopeful that this year will be our breakthrough. With the arrival of the vaccines, I think, this will change the situation for good. Let's just keep on praying to the ONE who is in control. In Him, everything is possible.
