Even though my birthday outing was not as fun as I expected it to be (since Psalm kept vomiting after we left the boat as the wave was choppy), there are still many things to be grateful for.  For 38 years of existence, I have been able to get through countless challenges that make my life better and better.  I thank Jesus for clinging on me despite my brokenness. He is ever faithful to me.

So let me share with you our outing last Saturday.  I was not supposed to celebrate my birthday on the beach but my older daughter wanted to bathe on the beach so I granted her wish (hehe).  We went to Costa Marina Beach Resort in Samal with just family and close Aunt.

The resort was peaceful by the time we arrive due to  (maybe) the corona virus scare. But we were not shaken by the epidemic. The show must go on.
The kids enjoyed very much the beach. Psalm this time was still active but 30 minutes later after vomiting, she became pale and weak. She wanted to be carried all the time. So we were not able to swim.
Most of their tables have no roofs so we moved to tents as it was drizzling at that time.  This is one of the downsides of the resort.

My birthday falls on a love month so whenever we celebrate my birthday outside, it is always expected that we see Valentine's decorations.

We weren't able to explore the place fully because Psalm was not feeling well but I was able to take some pictures of the resort.

It was a drizzling Friday when we convoyed my childhood friend's car heading to San Isidro where he and his family lives. We seldom see each other since he was assigned in San Isidro, still part of Davao Oriental,  as Mayor's bodyguard. That's why when he took a visit to our house here in Davao last New Year, I asked if we could go with him. Husband and I have been longing to visit Mati due to positive feedback we see from social media.  We were so lucky at that time because my friend served as our tour guide as he's so familiar with the place.

Here are the places we visited in a span of five hours. All our tiredness went away when we saw some of the beautiful spots of Davao Oriental.

My daughter Chesska is now a certified YouTube vlogger (hehe). Watch her as she plays with the strong waves with Psalm and some friends.

I would be forever grateful if you subscribe to her Channel. Your single click means a lot to me. Thank you!

How's your 2019? I hope you had a fantastic New Year with your family.

My one word in 2019 was PATIENCE. In fact, I wrote a blog about this early January. You can congratulate me now because I can tell that I am 70% more patient than I was in 2018 (yay!).

For 2020, my one word is TRUST. I struggled a lot personally last year. If you notice,  I only have a few entries on my blog because I suffered from anxiety. I can't figure out yet the root cause of my anxiety but during my research, it could be rooted from childhood traumas that lingered in our sub-conscious. I can tell you that having anxiety is no joke. You will experience body symptoms that are out of nowhere like anxiousness, dizziness, nervousness and negative thinking. That's why I am careful about my diet. I eat mostly fruits and vegetables because it helps balance our hormones. I also avoid coffee and tea or any foods that contain caffeine. Most of all, I try to avoid stress because it is one of the triggers. That's why my family and I attended FEAST (spiritual gathering of Light of Jesus), every Sunday because praying and worshiping God help me unload my stress.

I don't know what God has in store in me this year but all I need to do is TRUST. Trust His plans. Trust his words. Trust His promises. I know He will heal me in His perfect time!

How about you? What's your one word in 2020?
